Introducing the AMD Early Detection, Moorfields Acuity Chart. An international team, led by Prof. Roger Anderson from the University of Ulster & the Biomedical Research Centre at Moorfields Eye Hospital & UCL Inst of Ophthalmology, has designed a test that can spot the first stages of AMD.

It is extremely rapid and it offers the simplest possible task to the patient; yet it provides information on the type and the degree of the colour deficiency.

Introducing the New Contrast Sensitivity Flip Test by PA Vision.
The new flip test is perfect for all ages. One side is for adults the other side is for children. The size of each picture or letter remains constant throughout but the contrast of the outline of the target reduces and becomes more difficult to discern against the grey background. The Mollon-Reffin is an excellent minimal colour vision test for children, it is simple, not confusing and more importantly to the kids, it's great fun. It tests the 3 lines of colour confusion, Protan, Dutan and Tritan, unlike the Ishihara which doesn't test the Tritan line. The Universal Contrast Flip Test provides a straightforward, speedy method of measuring contrast sensitivity. It has letters or pictures, so it is suitable for adults, children and people of all ages with communication or cognitive difficulties.
Contrast sensitivity is an important measure of visual capabilities. The test complements a measure of visual acuity (which describes the finest detail visible at high contrast) by defining a subject’s ability to discern large targets at low contrast and is particularly useful in the examination of patients with reduced vision or visual impairment. The size of each picture or letter remains constant throughout but the contrast of the outline of the targets reduces so that the targets become more difficult to discern against the grey background.
